Glenn's going full speed

The Cowboys have had one of the league's elite vertical passing games despite Terry Glenn's absence.

Expect that to improve with their best field-stretcher back in the mix. Tony Romo said Glenn is back to blazing when he runs in a straight line. The question is how quickly Glenn can get out of his cuts.

"His vertical stretch and stuff like that, he's going to be just fine," said Romo, who is tied with Tom Brady for the most 20-plus-yard completions in the league (54). "That's going to add something pretty big, I think."

Masterful how Phillips handled the whole situation. You need to be at full strength AT THE START of the playoffs. We will stretch those defenses like they haven't seen this year! They will have no pregame preparation for what's coming!
Thank God Glenns back. Thanks for this very good news Tim.No, EXCELLENT news is more appropriate.

Xmas just came a day late for me.....welcome back Terry!!!!!

Sorry, but there is no way Glenn will be that affective! Unless we (cowboys)are truly riding the train to glory then so be it. He'll be nothing but a decoy but if it helps then alls well that ends well!

With straight line speed he can take DBs out of plays underneath, don't try to tell me his hands are not excellent and he will get one if the coverage bites underneath.

Yeager,

You are flat wrong. You have to realize that it will not so much be what Glenn does, but what the defense of the other team will have to take into account he "might do".

By stretching the field it will open up Witten and Crayton and prevent constant double coverages on T.O. - His presence will be big, just because he can outrun any of the DB's trying to cover him. Call that a Decoy if you like, but its still a major boost for this offense.

Trust me Triple6, I want Glenn to be a factor, I just can't see him doing that well considering his knee is still swelling and that he can't make cuts like he used too. He is the best route runner in the game but Crayton will lose reps to a maybe!

Late season distractions are NOT good, and our coach has made it obvious that he can't plan (scheme)to well!

terry will help get T.O.'s #s up...they have to respect his speed. for him its like riding a bike with the game against the redskins he will be right on track he is a veteran he know his game and he will be a force throught the playoffs and when the cowboys win the superbowl against the colts...(yes the colts will beat the cheaters)...

jdog,
I'm with you on the colt thing. I really think the colts or the jags will take out the Patriots before the Super Bowl. Because of the good teams in the playoffs in the AFC, you have to believe the odds of the Patriots making it to the big dance are not as good as the Cowboys.

Yeager, what you say about Terry's health is contrary to what I am hearing this week from the coach and from Romo. I do hate to see Crayton lose reps, but at the same time, now, in three receiver sets, you will have T.O., Terry, and Crayton, so in effect, Terry will also be taking snaps away from Sam Hurd on passing downs, and as much as I like Sam, he cant do the things Terry does.

I guess we will have a better answer after Sunday.

Excellent news! I'm excited for the Cowboys as well as Glenn. The timing couldn't be better for his comeback. He'll have a chance to play this weekend, then he'll have 2 weeks to recover physically if there are any swelling issues. It's nice to see that his decision to postpone surgery and try and rehab may work out for both him and the team.

I'd love to hear an interview with him where he has a chance to discuss what he's gone through, both physically and emotionally, preparing for just a "chance" that he might be able to play this season.
