C Andre Gurode (knee) and S Patrick Watkins (ankle) will not play against Carolina. Wade Phillips said both players might be able to play against the Redskins in the regular-season finale. Cory Procter will start at center. Joe Berger will be on the active roster and back up the guard and center positions. Rookie Courtney Brown will take Watkins' spot in the Cowboys, who also take a huge hit on special teams with Watkins' injury. He has a team-high 24 tackles on special teams. |

Gurode really hurts. Watkins wouldn't be missed so badly if Roy wasn't suspended. This isn't looking good. Thank goodness we're facing Carolina.

other divisional and NFC teams have faced way more adversity this season than Dallas. We'll find out a lot more about what this team is made of this week. Hopefully it'll make them dig deeper and get back on track.

The cascade effect of having both Roy and Pat Watkins out is tough to ignore. Keith Davis will fill in for Roy, while Courtney Brown will fill in for Watkins. However, that means that our special teams might take a hit due to both players being tired from being on defense. It'll be interesting to see how the Cowboys will rise to the challenge on Saturday!

Darn! I really wanted to see Watkins play for Roy Williams, if nothing else but to see how much of a dropoff there was. I know Roy is going to another Pro Bowl, but I am really starting to wonder about keeping him long term in the secondary. It seems we are taking major steps to shield him and I wonder how much of an asset he is.
As far as Gurode, goes, I think it is most important that he be healthy for the playoffs.
I know we are working to get home field advantage and nobody wants to go to Green Bay in January, but here's a stat - our only 2 losses have come at home. We play really well on the road.

I would like to see someone step up in Williams place at safety. It seems Roy can't conver, can only tackle if he launches himself at someone and they fall (he doesn't wrap them up, unless it is by the collar)and is consistantly out of position against the run.
