James can't wait to see Kitna!!

LOUIS DeLUCA / DMN

Wade Phillips said he doesn't know whether bulletin-board material helps or not.

"It's up there, though," Phillips said with a wry smile, referring to Jon Kitna mouthing off after the Lions' win at Texas Stadium last season.

Judging by the smoke coming out of LB Bradie James' ears, this particular bulletin-board material is serving its purpose. Kitna was particularly harsh on No. 56, whose ability and football intelligence were questioned by the Lions QB.

"We've got a lot more to play for," James said, "but I've never heard a quarterback saying some mess like that at the end of the game -- after the game was over with. He didn't say nothing before the game, then all of a sudden, we hear him saying something.

"He talked about just about everybody on the defense and singled me out. I'll be ready. I'm looking forward to it."

James has no plans to chat with Kitna before the game, but he did request that we pass along a message to the "classless" QB. He vowed to be Kitna's worst nightmare come Sunday.

"I don't know him and don't want to know him, but he’s going to get to know me," James said. "I'm going to talk it before and back it up."

Go get 'em Bradie! Here's looking forward to a couple of inside blitzes and watching you lay Kitna down on his back! BAAAAMMMMM!

PS roy williams is likely out for the season.

After reading Kitna's comments about the Dallas pass-rush (combined with what I've seen of Detroit's OL), I've got a feeling Jon may be wearing something like his Halloween costume before the game is over.

Now thats the way to stir up _____. Good job Tim!

Oh dear,

Kitna might need to bring a spare set of silver lions pants with him. Honestly, why irritate a big strong man, it'll only end in flashes of light behind the eyes, and the taste of blood in your mouth as you stagger back to the sidelines while the punt team takes the field.

ROFL, 'Bread cast upon the waters...'

or more colloquially 'Payback is a B...h'

Great a Cowboys defensive player is finally mad !!

Posted by Will @ 2:41 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Um, Bradie, there are plenty of times this year when you needed a Neverlost system, so don't see so outraged. And last year when you get lit up at home in a must - win game, yeah, Kitna is allowed to talk. He earned the right. You didn't. This year is a different story, but seal the deal this time. No letdowns. Talk with your helmet and pads.

Posted by Jamie @ 2:49 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Have fun out there Bradie. No 15-yard penalties though.

Posted by Orion @ 2:51 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

How about an injury update on both teams?

Posted by thepainster @ 2:54 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Isn't the internet great! You make a statement after a game a year ago and it is pulled up and used against you like a scorned woman.

Trouble is, most of what he said was true last year. This year is a different story. He should not have singled out 56.

Brady, revenge is a dish best served cold....as in cold cock him on a blindside blitz!

Posted by ol'bee @ 3:10 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Go James!! Go git 'im. Beware of roughing the passer though.

Posted by Victorb @ 3:18 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Bradie. Shut up and let your play speak for you. Kitna's a classless bum. Don't join him in that category. And, don't get so mad that you can't see straight or you'll look lost again like you did last year.
And, the fact is - he's right. Where was the defense last year at this juncture of the season? You seemingly had your proverbial heads in your a$$e$.

Posted by Saint Jimmy @ 3:28 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Victorb, you should be the one to shut up!!! Bradie James isn't being classless. The difference between Bradie and Kitna is that Kitna acted like a sore winner and did his trash talking AFTER the game. Bradie is just going by the old saying...it ain't bragging if you can back it up. Let the players motivate themselves in whatever way they need to do it. Jeez

The great sidelight of all this is not only can Bradie exact some revenge, the Cowboys as a team can get the same revenge for last fall by all but knocking the Lions out of the playoffs by slamming them with their 7th loss.

How sweet it is!

Posted by JKitna @ 3:50 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

I did not mean to say No. 56, but rather No. 94. Does that make things a little better for me next Sunday knowing that maybe No. 56 will not be mad at me? :)

Posted by Warden @ 3:55 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

How great is this game going to be!! I think Bradie is the Cowboys team leader if I had to pick one. For a supposedly pious guy, Kitna just can't shut himself up. He mouthed off after the Giants game, saying the Lions were still the better team. Maybe if he didn't make so many rookie mistakes that game, they could've won. No Roy Williams makes this game all the more sweet.

Posted by tugturdwell @ 4:05 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

I can just see that 'wry' smile on Wade..hee hee.

Posted by Robert @ 4:28 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Well, sad to say, Kitna was correct in his comments.

With that said, that Defense should be ornery and in need of hurting Lions.

Winning talks, talking walks. Shut up and play Bradie.

Posted by BigTexKahuna @ 4:35 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Why am I reminded of that long ago Eddie Murphy skit from SNL about a football player? I'm thinking Kitna better strap on his "hemet and showdamapads" real tight; otherwise, he might get some "dain bramage..." after Bradie and 'da Boyz exact a little payback...

Bradie... kick his sorry butt all you want. Just don't get yourself called for any personal fouls. And that goes for the rest of the defense, too!

Posted by Not So Crazy Ray @ 4:47 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Yeah, the sad thing is that Kitna was right. Our defense stunk against them last year. Only thing is, Kitna should've added "Bradie James and the Cowboys D were so bad last year that even I lit them up, and I'm a thoroughly mediocre QB!"

It's good that we're motivated by last year's loss and Kitna's foolish yapping. Otherwise, this game has "letdown trap" written all over it.

Posted by Doug W @ 5:44 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Is it me or doesnt anyone want to put Furrey front and center on this vengent attack during the game. I remember him throwing the football at the star and knocking it off. Thats a guy just begging to be made an example of.

Posted by Maverick @ 6:00 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

Tim, about time you took my idea! Don't care about the street cred, but you accomplished my objective: To make sure the Cowboys knew about it, and to make sure Brady James is sheer angry. I loved those words he stated. Let's just say, Brady is going to slap the white out of Kitna! Boy is going down!!!!!!

Posted by A-Cast @ 6:35 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

That's what I'm talking about. I'm okay with taking a 15 yard penalty as long as it is early in the game and it hurts Kitna hard. He won't be the same afterwards.

Posted by RyanA @ 6:44 PM Mon, Dec 03, 2007

This is what I like to see. If Kitna hadn't said anything then it is classless, but, come on, if you're a freaking LB in the NFL and someone runs lip like that.....you are SUPPOSED to get jacked. If he wasn't jacked then I'd be concerned. Light him up BJ!!

I actually thought those comments last year were the best analysis I'd read the entire year. Following the Saints game, offenses had their way with our defense. Kitna's comments made it clear that they knew exactly what was going to happen before it happened. I suppose with astounding players that's ok (think everyone knowing E. Smith's lead draw to the left), but, for most teams, its disasterous.
