i always enjoy your posts, macmahon, but this one is flat out stupid. waste of space and the precious time i spent reading it. btw, i hate this blog sometimes. i couldn't see it for an entire 2 weeks cause of its new look and it doesn't look like time well spent.

Well, she took the night off and the bells have struck past midnight. The slipper now fits. This team is a bonafide Cinderalla. She is set to go into the playoffs with very little experience with players who talk way too much and a coach too laid back to do anything about it.

First of the Philly defense deserves a lot of credit for the plan they had and how well they played but having said that Romo needs to grow up and be a leader. While I would love to be in his shoes, for him to start romancing Jessica at the most important part of season is not a smart move on his part for all the hard work that he,his teammates and coaches have put in to get to this point. He played an awful game right from get go and his poor play was not all because of his thumb.
I hope he can realize that he needs to focus at what he and his teammates can accomplish this season and not waste all hard work and pain they have endured so far.
I wonder how T O would have been treated by fans, media and teammates if he had been the source of this distaction. It is time to refocus and make the goals this team has come through and I think they team will respond well.

I really don't think Romo is taking Parcells parting advice to heart about becoming a celebrity quarterback. Partying in Hollywood during a crucial December push is pretty irresonsible. Even Terrell Owens skipped out on Hollywood for his birthday this year. I fear that Romo may have single-handedly cost the Cowboys home field advantage now.

My Eagles are NOT what they were the last 7 years....But they proved don't EVER take an opponent for granted. And that's EXACTLY what the Cowboys did. And They lost....GOOD!!

Habib, it's doubtful that Romo would date Owens.

The waffle balls coming off Tony's injured hand made it obvious that it was time to bring in backup QB Matt Moore.
Oh wait, they cut Matt, the Cowboys don't have a backup QB. All they have is a kick holder and hander-offer. Bummerooski :(
Maybe next season we can address getting a backup QB that can fit into this passing offense.
Until then, if Romo's hurt, it's season over.

Brad, the eagles fan, the only thing the Eagles did for themselves yesterday was move themselves further down in the draft. Even when you win, you lose.

You're a retard! You should be writing in Philly since your contributing to the fall of sports journalism. Maybe you'll get a TV appearance out of the post. It seems that is all your colleagues seem to care about.

Tim this is a very stupid comparison. How can you compare a guy with only one start in his career with Romo.

can you start a thread on how sorry ROY WILLIAMS is. thanks

We all saw that Moore was very talented during the pre-season. Why did we let him go? He should of at least been the third string. Was a rational ever given as to why we didn't sign him?

The same rationale that passed on Steven Jackson in the draft in order to get Julius Jones, and gave up the 18th pick to Cleveland last year, so they can get what looks to be a 20th-22nd pick this year, and picked Roy Williams with the 7th pick his year. In short, the "I'm Jerry and I'm smarter than everybody else, which is why I've spent a fortune on my defense and gotten such puny results." As in YESTERDAY, when the D needed to make a stop on that 3rd down pass over the middle that beat, yes, Roy Williams, and salted away the game for the Eagles. So, now we have 38 or whatever year old Brad Johnson and nothing for the future in case Romo flames out--again--each and every December. Jerry Jones always seems to outsmart himself in player decisions.

Well Tim, your dream has finally come true. You got mentioned on US Weekly's Web site. And no, I'm not kidding.

I'm a Cowboys fan in New England and I come here to read what other Cowboys fans are thinking and feeling. I have to admit, I'm kinda disappointed. Yeah, yesterday was awful (of course, the fact it was against the Eagles made it even worse) and the Cowboys looked really bad. But hello, they're 12-2. Reading the comments on this board, if I didn't know any better, I'd think the Cowboys were 2-12.
To be honest, I think they needed yesterday to happen. They needed to be reminded that no matter how good they think they are, things are not always just going to work out in the end every time the way they did in the Detroit and Buffalo games. Yesterday will hopefully serve to remind them they still have 5 more games to win if they want to get to where they're trying to get to and they have to play 4 quarters in each of those games. Better to lose now than in the playoffs and, the way things have been going, they were kinda due for a loss.
Posted by Chris @ 9:45 AM Mon, Dec 17, 2007
yeah, there are five more games to play and Tony is going to get it together because he's going to shut his phone off and toss his laptop. He can hang out at the complex throwing the ball and studying tape. No plane rides, parties, press, photogs, blondes, or brunettes.

Your'e all missing the point.
Romo got hurt and couldn't throw.
Since we let Matt Moore go, we don't have a legitimate Backup QB and had to continue with Romo's waffle passes.

Moore will haunt the boyz this Saturday night. Look for a Panthers vixtory.

SC Raider,
PaulC, The Jerry Jones hater, didn't answer your question. The reason Matt is not a cowboy is the fact the boys did not want to keep 3-QBs on the 53 man roster. They thought they could get him thru to the practice squad. Since he went undrafted, that was a pretty good bet, but they lost the bet.
Yes, it was a mistake to let him slip away but you are not going to cut a vet like Brad Johnson and keep un unproven, undrafted rookie QB as your #2 going into a season when you hope to make it to the super bowl. They gambled and lost with Matt, but promising young developmental QB's like Matt will be there again next year.
PaulC, Jerry has done a lot of things right also. For instance, without his input into the draft, neither Terrence Newman or DeMarcus Ware would be cowboys. Every draft pick from this last year's draft is now on the 53-man roster. Thats all Jerry and the scouting staff.
Jerry Jones haters are much like T.O. haters. They are going to hate regardless of the facts.

Wade's only really bad decision this year not keeping Moore as the 3rd QB. I don't understand teams that only carry two, when you basically get a free roster spot to keep a third. Everybody knew Moore had potential. QBs don't grow on trees, and you never know when you're going to need one. Just ask Carolina.

DougO,
You don't get a free roster spot for a third QB. Every team only has 53 roster spots for the year. Now, on game day, you get a 45 man active roster, and you can also have a 3rd, emergency QB listed, so in essence you get 46 players. However, the emergency QB is still part of the 53.
The Cowboys took a gamble with Moore. But really, do we think he would have made any difference to the team this year? I don't think so.
P.S. I just got an error with the stupid code you have to enter. Does it have to be so difficult to actually read the code??????

0 touchdowns, 3 interceptions, QB rating 53.9.
And we get comments that Moore is a future star, better for the team than Brad Johnson, and was cut because of Jones' ego.
I am always amused how much some posters play right into Tim's hands.
Moore MAY be a solid backup in the future. He is way too inexperienced to be one now. The Panthers have avoided playing him until absolutely forced to.
Posted by larry giusti @ 1:32 PM Thu, Dec 20, 2007
Tod, yes they were absolutely forced into playing Moore, and he absolutely won the game for them, which is more than can be said for Romo last week.

666, "but promising young developmental QB's like Matt will be there again next year". Herein lies the mistake that led to Matt being cut in the first place. Unfortunately, good young developmental QB's DO NOT come along every year. If that were so, then why did it take the Cowboys 7 years to find a good QB to replace Troy Aikman. If we are to believe 666, then the Cowboys should have had 7 good QB's on the roster, one for every year. No, good QB's, developmental or otherwise, are extremely hard to find. That is why I said we should have kept Matt Moore on the roster. He will be a good one, just wait and see.

parrothead, "But really, do we think he would have made any difference to the team this year? I don't think so". Well, let's see, parrothead, you tell me if you think any of these guys on the Cowboys roster have made any difference THIS YEAR: Doug Free,James Marten, Cory Proctor, Joe Berger, Pat McQuistan, Justin Rogers, Isiah Stanback, Tyson Thompson, Alan Ball, Courtney Brown, Evan Oglesby. I don't think so. So out of all these guys, you're going to tell me that not one of these guys could have been cut and take a chance that no team would pick them up, instead of Matt Moore? I say keep a good QB prospect, and take a chance on a O-Lineman or DB not clearing waivers. Stick to singing songs, Jimmy Buffett, you sure don't know anything about football.
Posted by larry giusti @ 2:42 PM Thu, Dec 20, 2007
scraider, here was the rationale handed down Jerry Almighty, regurgitated by his sychophant loyalists in the media, and swallowed by the herds of "Cowsheep". They figured he wouldn't be of any help to them this year anyway, so why "waste" a roster spot on a third string QB, when you could use that roster spot on someone who "might" be able to help you this year. Also, they were counting on no other team knowing how good Matt was, or, like the Cowboys, wouldn't use a roster spot picking him up. So the Cowboys gambled that no other team would claim Matt off of the waiver wire, and thus, could resign him to the practice squad, once he cleared waivers. The gamble failed. Now we will have to live with the consequences, and wouldn't it be ironic, if the guy they thought would be of no help to the Cowboys this year, winds up BEATING them this Saturday? Poetic justice, I would say.

Tod,"Moore MAY be a solid backup in the future. He is way too inexperienced to be one now". Tod, you may be right about the backup role, because for now, he is the STARTING QB!!! Let's see, first start last week against a playoff bound team playing for a 1st round bye against a Pro Bowl QB, and he BEATS them!!! And what was Philly playing for last Sunday? Oh yeah, NOTHING!!! And still, Romo couldn't beat them. Wouldn't it be ironic, if the guy who was cut by the Cowboys, because they thought he wouldn't help them this year, beats his second Pro Bowl QB in a row? What do you think, now, Tod, or should I say Todd, as in Todd-I don't know squat about football-Archer.
