Jim "Playoffs?!" Mora noted the Cowboys' whopping total of Pro Bowlers and came to an interesting conclusion. "They better be the best team in the NFC," Mora said on NFL Network. "Otherwise, they ought to fire the coach, for crying out loud." I'm sure Wade Phillips appreciates the support. |

Why so Mora can look into becoming our coach? Ha! I don't think so! We are 12-2 not very shabby for a team that people didn't think would be the Best in the NFC.

Mora - don't open your mouth and prove your stupidity. I was starting to like you and was feeling sorry for you getting fired by the Falcons.
Seriously, this doesn't sound like a slap at Philips.
And, how is it that basically this same roster could barely make the playoffs with the former "genius" coach?

THEY'D BETTER START PLAYING LIKE THE BEST TEAM IN THE NFC! Or its gonna be an early exit come the playoffs.

If anything, it comes off as a back-handed slap to the prior regime.
But then again, there's something to be said for the fact that your record usually dictates how many players you send to the Pro Bowl.

C'mon Tim,
You are being Tabloid Tim again with this.
I dislike Mora, but he did not say that with any disrespect to Phillips, he simply was acknowledging the incredible number of players the cowboys placed in the Pro-Bowl.
By the way, the speaking of guys being fired, the producer of the NFL network Pro-Bowl program should be fired. I can't believe they ran a trailer at the bottom of the screen, while the guys were just announcing the AFC starters, telling us who all the starters and reserves were in both conferences.
I got me a fresh cup of coffee and sat down to watch the show, but Hell, 5-minutes into to show, there was no suspense left.
What a stupid way to do this. You knew every starter and reserve in the NFC by the trailer before the guys on the show announced anything.

For some good comic relief, go to YouTube and search for Jim Mora clips. I promise you that you'll fall out of your chair laughing. His diatribes are awesome.
As for his comments today, yeah, he makes a good point. Most of the guys we had chosen are deserving but, hey, with all those selections, the team better make some noise come January!
And, Vix, this is Jim Mora, Sr. It was Mora, Jr. who was fired from the Falcons.

IMO, Mora's statement shows why he had great regular season records but didn't do well in the playoffs. He doesn't understand playoff football.
Pro Bowl berths are nice, but what really counts is how well they play as a team in the playoffs. I was living in Houston in the early '90s when they would constantly send 10 or 11 guys to the Pro Bowl and couldn't advance far in the playoffs.

(in a high pitched voice) Pro Bowl! Dont talk to me about Pro Bowl... Are you kidding me? Im just trying to coach another game... Are you kidding me? Pro Bowl?

Mora is just bitter. If standings are reflective of "best team in the NFC" then the Boys are the best since they're on top. Maybe he should have looked at the records before mouthing off like that and looking like a jackhole.

Jim Mora doesnt know diddley poo

That's really funny coming from a guy who has a career record of 0-6. He leaves the Saints they win in the playoffs; he gets run out of Indy and the Colts win in the playoffs.Mora is doing what he does best-running his mouth.
Posted by Not So Crazy Ray @ 4:20 PM Tue, Dec 18, 2007
JT, nice. I like when he said that his team "couldn't do diddley poo" and how "that was a total horsesh!t performance". He's actually a decent commentator, but I can't get past this stuff.

Does anyone really take what Jim Mora says as valid? Can he point out one player that made the Pro Bowl that shouldn't have made it?
The Pro Bowl players are the best in the NFL and every Cowboy that made it deserves it. Oh, and by the way, Greg Ellis and Matt McBriar didnt make it and they are the best players in the league in their positions. Wonder what 'ol Jim would say if the 'Boys had 13!

He does better at beer commercials than coaching
