Well, I don't think Jason Witten is too worried about that fumble now. His 16-yard TD catch caps an unbelievable game and a remarkable individual performance. Witten has a franchise-record 15 catches for a career-high 138 yards and a TD. And the Cowboys are about to win a game in which they were dominated. |

Same as last year, except we managed to pull this one out.
WOW!!!

What will go completely unnoticed is that TONY ROMO HAD THIS GAME BLOWN.
That's right. The golden boy blew it. Fumbled and got lucky.
Could there be a more overhyped, overrated player in the league? I don't think so.

LOL @ James, are you kidding me? The guy is legit. Overhyped, overrated? If anything, time will show him to be underhyped and underrated.

As Troy said, the teams that are hitting all strides make the plays to win these kinds of games...
And the Cowboys and Romo did...
The defense was dominated all game...but we managed to pull it out

James, please explain why he is overrated when he is breaking every Cowboys record in the book. That would mean that Aikman, White, Staubach, etc. were overrated.

Romo had the game blown? If his O-Line could block then the fumble never would've occurred. Outside of Manning or Brady, theres no one else I want quaterbacking my team (with the game on the line or any other time for that matter).

I was almost pulling for the Lions just so that the talent-challenged Bradie James and loose-tongue Newman would learn a lesson. For the life of me, I just can't fathom why Bradie would even open his mouth. He has never been a factor in the defense, much less feared. He is one guy just lucky to be starting. Newman has not proven anything either. All I saw were unknown Lion receivers catching passes in front of him all day. Greg Ellis needs to talk to these two bunms. We don't need to give other teams an edge over our average defense.

I think James needs to be sure and take Eli Manning as his fantasy QB. Lord knows James could use some knowledge of what an overrated overhyped QB looks like.

Anyone notice TO was the only player on the field that didn't go and congratulate Witten in the endzone? He was being a baby because he was wide open too but didn't get the ball. Could be the first crack... I hope it doesn't manifest and destroy the team in the next few weeks.

On the plus side, Witten already had the stats for a Pro Bowl season, but now he has the play (helmetless), game (15 catches and beat a team virtually by himself), and season (if we win it all) to open the door to the Hall of Fame. True, he still has to walk through it by playing out his career at the high level he already does, but he now has much of the resume thanks to a great season - and a quarterback that will continue to bring him the publicity that sort of acclaim, unfortunately, needs.

I don't know if it was a true "fumble." You can't blame the guy too much...he was gang tackled by five guys trying to strip the ball...but at least we pulled it out and he redeemed (sp?) himself.

James...you're an idiot.

Joe, you're a blind sheep to Jerry Jones. Pull your head out of...well, where the sun doesn't shine. Be realistic, please.
Brady > Manning > Roethlisberger > Romo > everyone else. Romo's a fine quarterback, but he is not the greatest thing since sliced bread that everyone in Dallas likes to make him out to be.
Go Cowboys! Beat the Eagles!

I know the teams and schemes are virtually unnrelated and separated by more than a decade, but the end of the last dynasty coincided almost precisely with the decline of Novacek. Seems that as the TE situation goes so goes the offense. If it weren't for Ju. Jones taking many snaps that Barber could/should be getting, the 'Boys offense would have with Romo-Barber-Owens-Crayton-Witten almost a carbon copy of Aikman-Smith-Irvin-Harper-Novacek. All we need now is a Moose and a defense!

"Romo's a fine quarterback..."
Could you be more inconsistent James? You should realize that being a waffler makes any and all statements you make null and void in anyones eyes with an IQ of more than 30.

You win or lose as a team. But ignoring that as you did, if you want to blame Romo for almost losing it by himself, how can you ignore his 80% completions 302 yards & 2 TDS as being the main reason they were able to stay in the game? Or his overall stats for the year that are the best season for a QB in Dallas history, better than Aikman or Roger the Dodger ever had? Or the 12-1 start, the best in the history of the team, even better than the 3 years we won the SB under Aikman? Not to mention that this particular blog was about the TE, not the QB. Wotta maroon.
