ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports that Bill Parcells could become the Falcons' vice president of football operations as soon as tomorrow. Atlanta owner Arthur Blank apparently has made an offer and is basically begging the Tuna to fix the mess that is the Falcons. Parcells would not become Atlanta's new coach but sources say he would be authorized to hire the team's next coach, as well as re-organize the personnel department. He also could hire a new general manager if he and Blank agree that one is necessary. I found it funny that Parcells hung up on Mortensen, an ESPN colleague, when asked to comment. Per Mortensen, Blank contacted Jerry Jones to ask about Parcells and got a glowing report, with Jerry crediting Parcells for rebuilding America's Team after it went 5-11 three straight seasons. |

One of the first moves that Bill Parcells would make if he was vice president of football operations in Atlanta would be to hire the Cowboys Vice President of College and Pro Scouting, Jeff Ireland as there General Manager. He then would hire many of the Cowboys current scouts. It only makes sense. He will raid the cubboard bear.

I think ol Big Bill has lost his ability to coach and win a SB, but when it comes to "shopping for groceries" he has and will do a good job.
He will re-stock that team with good talent. However, pity the fool that has to coach that team and basically answer to the Tuna.
ATL will be back to respectability soon, and they get lucky a la Brady or Romo, look out

Good for Bill. He is good at picking players and we as cowboys fans owe him lots of respect for doing a good job in Dallas.
Wheel and deal some trades Jerry - send Roy to Atlanta for say a forth rounder and trade our second round pick for DeAngelo, but leave those two first rounders for a wide reciever and strong safety who doesn't get rules named after him.

Oh one other thing...poor Zimmer...he cannot escape the 3-4 defense! Ha...to funny!
You know Bill is going to want to dump the 4-3 defense there in ATL! It will be interesting to see if they keep Zim's services. He's not a bad coach he just cannot escape Bill's shadow!

Hamging up on Mort? Back to his slimey self just as he did when he took the Cowboys job. Lied to ESPN who he was working for and leaked the news to his buddy Jim Nance at a competing network.

I think it would be the smart thing to do, look at the job he did rebuilding the Cowboys. Who cares about Mort, he gets treated better that baseball players who get in the hall of fame for producing 30% of the time. Mort is only right about 15% of the time.
