Romo banged thumb on Bigg's helmet

I'm assisting Albert "Einstein" Breer with his Tale of the Tape duties, and we just pinpointed the play on which Tony Romo injured his thumb.

He banged it on RG Leonard "Bigg" Davis' helmet on a 13-yard completion with 10:20 to go in the third quarter. It happened just as Romo appeared to be finding his rhythm, hitting Crayton for 41 yards on the previous play. His next pass was a flutterball that sailed way over Sam Hurd's head in the end zone.

Romo's pre-injury stats: 8-of-21 for 152 yards and two interceptions. Post-injury: 5-of-15 for 62 and an interception.

Much, much more to come. Einstein will post his Tale of the Tape, etc. by the morning.

You sure??? I just erased the game from my Tivo, so I can't go back and look, but I coulda swore that the Fox cameras caught the training staff looking at his thumb on the sideline before halftime (....???)

Romo isn't an 8 for 21 quarterback. The thumb wasn't the problem. He wasn't ready to play this game.

Betcha he learned from it and will prepare correctly next time. Bet he cuts back on the partying, etc.

Look again, Tony's thumb was hurt before halftime. Almost sure the trainers were looking at his thumb before the half.

I also scoured the film and noticed he did hit it on Bigg's helmet, but what about this.

When Romo threw the pick into the end zone and the ball was fumbled he kind of landed on the hand while going to his knees next to Marion Barber.

The very next play he sails it over the head of MBIII in the flat. That was the first sign to me that the hand wasn't feeling right.

Really ? How about we get Brad Johnson some playing time so IF there happens to be a real problem, we have someone that has had some reps ?
And how about the MRI results on Gurode ?
And how about Canty ?
Doesn't The DMN have someone covering this, and if so, where can I find the info ?

After Romo was unable to throw the ball with accuracy, why did'nt Wade put in backup QB? He could be a starter for most NFL teams. It's not like he is a ROOKIE....

I agree with Justin. Given how many beat writers, columnists, and society-page bloggers we have in this town, how is it so hard to get hard news, like Gurode's MRI results or what's REALLY going on with Romo's thumb? Yes your analysis is all brilliant and wonderful, and we value your expert opinions, but, c'mon, this isn't Watergate, fellas. Where are your anonymous sources? BRIBE somebody if you have to, but deliver the information, please.

Wayne, "AFTER Romo was unable to throw the ball with accuracy"?,

That would be from the 1st pass of the game when he severly overshot T.O. on what would have been an 85-yard touchdown.

Guys, I love Romo and he is going to be a great QB for years to come, but he was terrible from the get-go in this game and his thumb didnt make him better or worse so lets not use it as an excuse for a really bad performance.

Nobody looked like they were ready to play this game. It seemed like one of those games where most of the players didn't want to waste their effort on another spare team when the playoffs are in sight.

If this continues into the next game we have problems.

Something your tech guys did yesterday afternoon has broken the Cowboy Blog in Firefox (at least on my two machines at home). Page starts to load, and the banner loads, but nothing else (except the YouTube window). Works fine in Safari.

The other Belo-blogs also seem to load OK in Firefox, just not the Cowboy's blog.

I'm on a Windows machine running Firefox now, and it (the Cowboy blog)is working fine. Either you guys fixed it, or it's a Firefox for OS X specific bug.
