David Moore's fine story last week mentioned that Burlington High in Wisconsin is making a ton of cash off of Tony Romo throwback jerseys. Well, Romo's college alma mater wants a piece of the action, too. Eastern Illinois sent out a mass e-mail today promoting sales of Romo's No. 17 jersey and T-shirts. Call (217) 581-2310 for more info. In other Romo news, he might have set an NFL record for fewest starts before having a book written about him. "America's Next Quarterback" is being billed as a "feel-good story" about Romo's rise from undrafted nobody to to Cowboys QB. |

A year ago I would say people are jumping the gun. He's great and I'm thankful for him being on the team, but already a book titled "America's Next Quarterback?"
Does anyone remember when Kurt Warner was the hottest QB in the league? Or when Trent Dilfer won the Super Bowl? Or when Grossman was supposed to be the saviour of the Bears? Or when Bledsoe was to bring the Patriots a SB?
Jesus Christ let the kid have a couple of good seasons before going THAT far. For all we know he could end up being a flop the next year or two and everyone will be burning their jerseys. He's great now but for all we know he could turn out to be like those other guys and just traded from team to team hoping for another shot at glory.
Although, for the sake of the Cowboys, lets hope not.

The college ones cost 200. They are a gift with a donation to Eastern Illinois athletics fund.
