T.O. walked out of Ford Field with three catches, 21 yards and one NFC East championship cap. "The only thing this matters is this hat on my head," T.O. said with a megawatt smile. "We won. Nothing else matters." The Lions kept T.O. from extending his TD streak to eight consecutive games, but Jason Witten gave the Original 81 a lot of credit for the game-winning score. The Cowboys ran the same four-vertical route play on which T.O. scored against the Redskins and the Giants. With T.O. and Witten lined up on the same side, a safety playing Cover 2 is basically forced to choose whether he wants to help on an elite TE or elite WR. The safety, as had been the case all day, chose to take T.O. away. Romo made the read and lofted the ball over the MLB. Next thing you know, the Cowboys are putting on fancy new caps. |

Great Answer TO!!! It was ugly, but I'll take it. It beats the alternative. I just think of being in this situation in the past and a QB wilting under pressure by throwing an int or fumbling the ball.
I think of the NFC title game with SF and "the catch" when Danny White still had a chance to win that game and fumbled the ball. No one seems to remember that part of it.

T.O. is a class act. I'm proud to have him on this team. If you double or triple team him every play ...you will lose. He will score 3 TD's next week against the eagles.

I for one am glad T.O. looked upset on the sideline. He's a COMPETITOR and competitors want to make a difference. If he was laughing, joking and playing around, he would be criticized for a lack of passion! Everyone keeps waiting for T.O. to implode and it's NOT going to happen. Let the man be! T.O. knows, just like the rest of us do, that a win is a win!

When the chips are down, Jason Witten is the most valuable player in the league. Romo, Brady, Favre and company are exceptional QBs but Witten is something else.

ohh cruising tex- wait for it, T.O. will not only implode, he will explode! I'm just kidding, I just like saying that- he is awesome

Terrell Owens is what makes this good team a GREAT team. Let's just hope they find a way to get him the ball more in the coming weeks.

T.O played a great game. Our game plan requires him to run his routes even if the ball does not go to him. This requires 2 defenders to cover him regardless of the play. This opens the downfield. Today he only got 21 yards, but you better beleive they knew where he was on the field every down.

T.O. should be given the game ball. All the attention the Detroit defense paid to him helped in Jason Witten being open so often. That's not meant to take away any credit from Jason for having a great game, because he did.
Hats off to the whole Cowboy team in a great come-from-behind victory.

Just think how stunning this offense could be next year if we pick up a Roy Williams in free agency. 2 HOF level wideouts and a HOF tigh end with an elite QB. We may even get as much respect as the Patriots and Bellycheat. Naah. Not with ESPheN in charge of the show.

Terrell Owens stands for what some never would have believed- Respect. He gives it and he earns it. No one should enjoy saying that this team player will explode. Stats like today's probably will cost him money, on his incentives, and all he is worried about is winning. Very proud that he is a Dallas Cowboy. He makes all opponents do things differently.

Another example of T.O being a model citizen this season.
On a side note, he was open on the last TD to Witten and waved his hands, but Romo went for Witten from the get go. Of course all it matters is the Cowboys won.

Note to Jason G:
(1) I WILL PUT T.O. IN MOTION 2 OUT OF EVERY 3 PLAYS.
(2) I WILL PLAY T.O. IN THE SLOT FROM TIME TO TIME
(3) I WILL PLAY T.O. IN MOTION OUT OF THE BACKFIELD EVERY ONCE IN AWHILE
(4) I WILL NOT JUST LINE HIM UP ON ONE SIDE OF THE FIELD AND ALLOW DEFENSES TO BUMP and COVER HIM OVER THE TOP
(5) I WILL CALL T.O.'s NUMBER ON THE QUICK SLANT MORE THAN ONCE PER GAME.
Thanks, Jason. I feel so much better now. Signed,

Wasn't it T.O. who was open on that final touchdown toss.
Wasn't it T.O. going right up the sideline into the end zone, yet Romo threw to Witten, in traffic?
Shouldn't the throw have been to T.O.
This isn't to nitpick, but I would like to know what Romo was thinking as he went threw that pass. And one more thing, that final touchdown pass was PLAY ACTION. Why the play action, why waste time with a meaningless fake when the Cowboys couldn't stop the clock, and nobody was going to go for it.
Why did Garrett call a play action with about 20 seconds left, when we couldn't stop the clock.
Many questions about this one.
I didn't see any of the game, just the highlights.

Well Dan, he was probably thinking he had to get it out of his hands before a Lion did!! We know now that Tony will throw to who he sees...who is open!! T.O. isn't mad about it, so we shouldn't either!!! T.O. is in a time in his career where he is in the Hall of Fame, he just wants to win the Super Bowl...stats are no big deal!!

Put yourself in Romo's place:
Game is on the line, Owens and Witten both open in or near the endzone, who the heck are you gonna throw the ball to? Even a partially covered Witten is the smart choice ... if your goal is to win the game, that is.

T.O. is a bad boy,way better than Moss no doubt. '' Go cowboys''

earnest,
that T in your name must mean T.O. hater!! You must have forgot the game against Washington where T.O. put up 24 of the 28 points!! Without him, we are not an 11 win team AT ALL!! He changed that game, the Eagles game, both the New York games, and many in between!!
Stop being a hater and realize that T.O. has come up with crucial 3rd and 4th down completions and any quaterback in the game would love to have him on their team. He's been a team player and is one of the top 2 in the league and one of the best in history!!
Even when he doesn't score, he pulls so many defenders that other players wouldn't get...why...because he has been a defense-killer ALL year long!!

I hope that T.O. is able to understand how big a role he played in making this win happen. If he doesn't run his routes hard and occupy those 2-3 defenders chasing him every play then we lose the game. He is a willing blocker in the running game and while I didn't see him singled out for effort I'd be suprised if he didnt help spring at least one or two of the good runs they had.
Moving forward teams are going to have to make a very tough decision: eliminate TO or eliminate Witten. It has happened all year - notice how many games one has dominated when the other has been taken out. The offense revolves around those two guys and functions at a high level because they are both equal threats. Kudos TO - a good portion of that division trophy comes from your effort all year.

I like the way jasson Garrtee used T.O., he didn't use him in a lot of motion, so that way the offense doesn't become predictable, look for that to change this week going against the eagles, it will keep defenses guessing what he is going to do with him next.
