That's what New York Daily News columnist Gary Myers thinks. He's going crazy about the Simpson Family Bye Week Fiesta, although questions about Tony Romo's Mexican getaway were pretty much met with a bunch of shrugs at Valley Ranch yesterday. Now there is also the Simpson Factor: She was sitting in a private box wearing a Cowboys jersey with a cute pink No. 9 as Romo stunk it up against the Eagles. Then Romo was in Cancun with Simpson and her family and tight end Jason Witten over the weekend. If the Cowboys lose to the Giants, then Romo will have a lot of questions to answer about his focus. You can certainly accuse Romo of blatantly violating Bill Parcells' commandment about not being a celebrity quarterback, but it's funny that Tom Brady isn't getting any heat for spending his weekend in the Big Apple with Gisele. Moral of the story: A quarterback can do whatever he wants after he wins a Super Bowl or three. Until then, every non-football-related move is fodder for questioning your commitment and focus. |

I'm not surprised the tabloids up in NYC are going crazy about this story. But it's just astounding to me that this is a story at all. Personally I think that Romo and Witten are going to come back refreshed and more focused after a little break.

Flutie Flakes is a common derisive term used in reference to Patriot's fans who display an extreme fanaticism and irrationality. Also see: Flutie Fruities.

LEAVE IT TO SAINT "I AM AN ICON BECAUSE I GET MULTIPLE BOARD RUN" JIMMY TO MAKE A VERY GAY REFERENCE IN HIS POST. I ALWAYS KNEW HE PLAYED FOR THE WRONG TEAM. A 2 TIME LOSER. A COW-VOMIT FAN AND A PRETTYBOY.
THE RAMS WILL WIN THE NFC WEST NEXT YEAR, MARK IT DOWN COW-MORONS, CAUSE IT WILL HAPPEN. ENJOY YOUR RIDE IN A VERY WEAK DIVISION, AND A WEAKER CONFERANCE. YOU ALL SICKEN ME.

Brady has 3 Super Bowl Rings and is the odd's on favorite for a fourth on his way to the hall of fame. Are you serious in comparing what he does in preparation for a big game to slippery fingered and easily distracted Romo?
Posted by ML. @ 11:30 AM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Does Gisele have her pix plastered all over the place if she is at Brady's games? JS acts like such a FOOL when she is on camera; keep that mouth closed for goodness sake; try acting like a lady!
Darlin' Tony please DON'T have any of the disgusting Munster-Simpson's at the games anymore; try bringing your own parents or grandparents to the game for some dignity .... or are they disgusted with you as well?

Let the Media and the Giants have their dreams. They will be disabused of their notions come Sunday at 4:30 EST.
I don't believe in this 'distraction'. If Dallas isn't pumped and focused for this game they don't have a pulse.
The fact that there is so little talk coming out of Dallas is encouraging tome. It means those guys are going to be ready.

Rams Fan - Go play golf with the rest of your team.

Like it or not pollyanna cowboy fans, the excerpt from Gary Myers piece above is absolutely true, and
Tim, your "Moral" even though said with Tongue in Cheek, is also true.
Thats the reality of the situation Romo has put himself in.
This will either all go away after Sunday OR it will become a hot topic the entire off-season.

Romo: From Hero to Zero. Could be a role model like Peyton or Tom-instead is feeding his ego. Now that shows his lack of character.
Posted by Diallo @ 11:58 AM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
I thought Romo has supposed to have lost focus in the offseason when he was gallavanting with Carrie Underwood and judging beauty contests. Well, he lost focus to the tune of 4,000 yards, 36 TDs, and 13 wins. I'll take that lack of focus any day. This story is much ado about nothing.

Any and every "journalist" who brings this kind of thing up - even if they are mentioning that it shouldn't be brought up - - is a homo.
You little boys at your typewriters should shut up and find some actual sports-related topic.

We must not sicken you too much RAMSLOSER. You make ignorant posts here consistently. Go away and you will feel better. But, you just want attention since the rams stink and will continue to do so.

If Tony's bosses or fellow players don't have a problem with it, why should the fans. The players, Wade and Jerry have much more to lose than a fan. Tony will be focused for this game.

Rams Fan couldn't even stick to his word and leave this blog when the Rams lost in week 10 or was it week 11...or week 12..doesn't matter many losing weeks to choose from...so just ignore him and the JS business...3:30 CST Sunday is all that is important...that's when the journey truly begins.
Posted by annie @ 12:58 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Professional atheletes are role models -good and bad. Tony could give something bigger than football. He has been handed a gift with his talent and his contract.
Posted by Rodney in Atlanta @ 1:00 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
All of you who are ragging on Romo for his decision to REST in Mexico agree with Skip Bayless. What does that say about some of you guys?
Way to go Rams Fan for continuing to get a rise out of at least half the people on each posting.
Shows that just as in the real world we are forced to give the short bus people a voice as well.
Posted by Babyarm @ 1:14 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Did you really just mention Tony Romo in the same article as Tom Brady. He doesn't belong on the same page as Brady.
Until Romo wins ONE playoff game, he's just another dude.
And I'm starting to pick up a bit of a douchebag scent with him.
Posted by William @ 1:14 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
I agree. I'm about as interested in Romo being heterosexual as I would be if he were homosexual. What does this have to do with the holy numerals of 1, 2, 3 and 6? What does this have to do with running with the ball, throwing the ball and catching the ball? What does this have to do with tackling?
Posted by Vic @ 1:21 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Jerry needs to intervene in some way before TRomo costs the SuperBowl like he did last year...
Someone shaken up ROMO and make him realize Bros before Hoes...
this is so sad.
Posted by William @ 1:32 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Well, it isn't just that, Vic. This isn't all Romo's fault. One must also blame the national press for the intense focus on his wee wee. Still, one has to be impressed with Jessica Simpson for she isn't your typical blonde slut. And will Jack ever sleep with Jill? Did Dave really die during the last episode?
Posted by Rodney in Atlanta @ 1:41 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Vic, in case you didn't understand things last year, we weren't going to the Super Bowl. Maybe this is the problem. People's perceptions about where this team should be in the last couple of years. Interesting.
My expectations are Super Bowl this year, but until this team loses in this playoffs, I'll reserve judgment and undue criticism.
And remember, there's no drama in football.

tom brady can do what he wants because he has played well all year...romom has stunk a few times this season...he needs focus...brady seems to be able to focus when necessary...romo easily loses it...i just hope he focuses this sunday
Posted by wayne @ 5:11 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
I don't see anything wrong with Romo working on his 2 Tight - End set while in Mexico as long as his head is back in the game now.
Posted by Rodney in Atlanta @ 5:28 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
Most everyone on that team went somewhere for the break. I can't understand for the life of me why Romo's time away was worse than everyone else's. In fact, if it was all about getting away and relaxation, I can't think of a better place then the beach.
Maybe some of you just don't get out much.
Posted by He's doing it again! @ 7:21 PM Tue, Jan 08, 2008
I hope Tony doesn't screw up our Superbowl dreams. We are so close and he's messing up again.
Does this guy ever learn?
I am not a Brady fan but the dude knows what it takes to be a champion. Football is his business and he takes it seriously. Tony? Eh he just wants to hang loose with blonde singers and lets them distract him from his career. He probably thought it was funny Jess was shaking her goodies for the tv camera. Sad he's letting Jess destry his career.
Grow up Tony!!!!!

Two of our coaches went on three job interviews each...those take a lot of prep specific to each team...a couple of other coaches are involved in job speculation...I would think knocking off some quality trim, laying on a beach, and sipping a 'rita would be a lot less of a distraction than interviewing for major jobs...but that's just me
