Gee, darn. Our secondary has been a weak link on this team for years now.

I'm shocked, shocked!!!, to see gambling going on here...

So?

Posted by ntouch4u2 @ 1:46 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

GOOD BYE! AND DON'T LET THE GOOD DALLAS DOOR HIT YA!

He was an EX-REDSKIN any way and while he was here, our defensive secondary was a BIG FAT JOKE and a laughing stock of all the NFL Pundents!

The way I see it, I am Glad he and Sparano are gone and united in Miami!

would Woodson come back to coach?

Posted by Stinky Tuna @ 2:01 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Clean out anything related to Parcells...we need to go back to being a winning organization!

Posted by Tom F @ 2:02 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Redskins - Here are your winnings sir

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 2:12 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Tom F - Oh, Thank you very much...

Posted by Jerry @ 2:15 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Thank you Parcells!!!! This is great news! Our secondary has been a joke for a few years now. Maybe we can now get a secondary coach who can convince WP to put biscuit (#31) on the bench until he can be traded or released....and don't resign Jacques Reeves or Nate Jones. Now, if we can just get the Dolphins to hire our special teams coach we would be in good shape.

Good Deal,

Now Wade, hire a real secondary coach and not just a guy they all like.

As far as I am concerned, take the linebacker and defensive line coach with you.

Posted by cowboy128 @ 2:19 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Please take Brian Stewart with you.

Posted by Greybeard @ 2:21 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Dennis Thurman's free, bring him on in.

Posted by WilliamC @ 2:24 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

I say we give Brian Stewart another year before we trash him.

He was new to the team, new to being a defensive coordinator, and after all, had to work with the Parcells guys including Todd Bowles.

I am concerned, however, that for some reason that certainly escapes me, according to a Star-Telegram report, the boys have decided to keep the special teams coach.

Posted by chris graham @ 2:25 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

dick labeu just quit pittsburgh!

Posted by A-Cast @ 2:32 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Our defense rankings have just gone up a few notches and we haven't even replaced him yet. I'm feeling good about 2008. If we can only avoid the almighty RAMS in '08. Good thing we don't play in the AFC along with them.

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 2:34 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Rod Hill and Dexter Clinkscale could assist with the DBs...Clayton Holmes' 10 speed needs new tires...maybe he can help...Benny Barnes could show the DBs how to lose a Super Bowl...

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 2:42 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

Ron Fellows can show the guys how to start and stay on the field w/out ever making a play [maybe Roy Williams can become the player/DB coach in this scenario]...Mark Washington can show the fellas how to be immortalized on a poster...

I don't think losing Bowles is a major blow to the coaching staff. Our secondary has been a weakness for years and I don't blame that all on the players. When you watch other teams (see Giants & Patriots), their corners seem to be in better position to make a play given the current down and distance. Also, it would make sense for Wade to have a secondary coach who is on the same page with his more aggresive 3-4 than the conservative Parcells 3-4. Basically, I'm looking forward to some fresh air in the secondary.

Does anyone think we have a bigger need going into the draft than corner??

How quickly we forget 5-11.

Posted by Stinky Tuna @ 5:45 PM Tue, Jan 22, 2008

I didn't forget the w-l records, ty. I'm talking about a "winning organization", something that never existed during Parcell's tenure.

I've had irritable bowles syndrome for a while now..but it went away today

Stinky Tuna,
Parcells took over a horrible aging team without a quarterback. As soon as he was hired the Cowboys were no longer the laughing stock of the league but had instant respect.
The only thing that kept Parcells from making a legit run at the whole damn thing was his lack of talent at the most important position.
Only one team a year wins the Super Bowl but there are a handfull of "winning orginizations" and thanks to Bill Parcells our Dallas Cowboys are again one of them.
Also, I don't quite get the Tim Burns haters (or imposters). He's a better writer than Breer, the
guy obviously knows his Cowboys football and provides great insight. Not only that, but I'm gussing he's a pretty good dude. Burn's keep up the good posts, I enjoy your comments.
