Curran's true feelings on Wade

11:35 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008 |
Albert Breer   E-mail   News tips

Timmy Tabloid said that that NBCSports.com's Tom Curran took "cheap shots" at Cowboys coach Wade Phillips yesterday

I don't know if they were cheap. Seemed pretty straight-forward to me.

And knowing Tom, I do know that he's maintained this position for a little while. Just look here, and you'll see that. Not saying he's right or wrong. Just that this wasn't some out-of-nowhere smear campaign he went on.

Cheap? Possibly.

Classless? Most certainly.

Willing to back it up, man-to-man alone? Most certainly NOT.

"Just that this wasn't some out-of-nowhere smear campaign he went on."

Sure it was. It just didn't happen to start this week. And, Breer, why are you defending this idiot?

Posted by Kirby Weather @ 12:01 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Curran is a classless jerk, and was probably the most mediocre writer at the Providence Journal (and if you live in New England, you know that is saying a LOT).

New ENgland, New York -- it doesn't matter. Do you HEAR ME??? It doesn't matter.

NO ONE respects the Cowgirls. Not even the Cowgirls fans (see related article about Cowgirls fans always acting like deaf mutes at home games).

We in Giants Nation will BEAT YOUR SAD LITTLE TEAM OF PRETENDERS to a pulp on Sunday evening (that's "night time" for you idiots in Fort Worth).

Good luck to your prima donna receiver -- NOT!

Implying that Phillips is dumb is "pretty straight-forward" and not "cheap"? So, Curran didn't like Phillips two weeks as indicated in the earlier article -- what meaning does that have?

Thanks Albert for backing me up. Call me last night was stunning.

Posted by shawn @ 12:18 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Hey Albert-
I speak for alot of us when I say this....Go back to Boston...and stay there.

Posted by Curran's Sack @ 12:21 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Albert, Curran called. He'd like me back, please remove me from your mouth and return. Thanks

To the mental retard calling himself cowboykilla
or whatever....eat your heart out wastewad! You've
got a QB (pouty face Manning) with a rating just in the NFC of 70.3! He is ranked number 12 just in the NFC alone. Your human tatoo has a broken leg
and is at home sucking on his hormones. You got a running back who almost always runs sideways through his alledged blockers. Yeah right, Manning is playing "great ball" (according to only NY
writers) since he beat the only team that did not even belong in the playoffs. You must have been the survivor from the Twin Towers that the entire building fell on...serious mental issues!

Albert, I enjoy your work here. But Curran's comments about Wade Phillips seem pretty personal to me.

I read the article; it was stupid and meaningless and also wouldn't give an iota of credit for a 13-9 season. Which by the way ties Dallas's best season. T.O. has 15 TD catches. With a very few exceptions, Romo is beating or tying a lot of records. He just sounds like a cry baby to me; and the only thing he can do is cry and whine. Oh yeah and do a lot of bragging about that 10-6 team. Ignorance is bliss I guess.

OOOOPS this is a correction to my last post.
I read the article; it was stupid and meaningless and also wouldn't give an iota of credit for a 13-3 season. Which by the way ties Dallas's best season. T.O. has 15 TD catches. With a very few exceptions, Romo is beating or tying a lot of records. He just sounds like a cry baby to me; and the only thing he can do is cry and whine. This is just another case on an elitist northeastern media guy looking down his nose at Wade because he's a "good ol' boy" that has a drawl and doesn't talk 90 miles per minute. That stereotypical "He'southern so he must be stupid" thing. They funny thing is, the way I read his articles, HE'S the one that looks stupid.

"And knowing Tom, I do know that he's maintained this position for a little while. Just look here, and you'll see that. Not saying he's right or wrong. Just that this wasn't some out-of-nowhere smear campaign he went on."... Soooo, that fact that he's looked down his nose at Wade for a long time, in some way, mitigates the total lack of class??? Somehow, I don't think so!!

Cowboy dilla-do
The difference being NY is "low class" and Bahston is "no class".
Now go back to watchin your Yankee broke-back-mountain movie.
Scoreboard Cowboys 76 NY or NE 0

Another moron not looking at things for what they truly are. Let's look at a game-by-game review of exactly what the Cowboys have done since the "Packers game".

Detroit Lions - I'm sorry, but as playing in Detroit has proved to be kryptonite for the Cowboys over the last two decades the entire Cowboys world should be happy to get a win any way you can get it there. All bets are off going to Detroit no matter which team we're fielding. But... we won.

Philadelphia Eagles - Romo couldn't throw the ball 20 yards that day. I don't care if he wasn't very sharp his first several attempts. There's no reason to think he wouldn't have found a rhythm had he not whacked his thumb. He had every other game after a slow start. Defense held them to 10 points.

Carolina Panthers - Offense looks great until T.O. gets hurt, game plan goes to poop. Still beat a playoff hungry team, however. Defense holds them to 13 points.

Washington Redskins - There wasn't even a real game plan for this game other than getting Romo's completion record and staying healthy.

Wade is supposed to be freaking out?

And yes, being the 1st seed in the playoffs is the equivalent of winning a wild card weekend playoff game in the bracket. That's what Wade was talking about, that's what he said he was talking about but some reason this guy doesn't understand. And he's calling others a dummy. Remarkable.

This is just another dude who's heart the Cowboys have broken at some point and is still bitter. It's the same routine every year. These people will always be around.

Albert,

you got to be kidding me. dumb & fat jokes about a coach who's 13-3 & everyone agrees is a great D coordinator. also, he's a real nice guy.

Posted by Rob Miles @ 2:41 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Mik, I agree with your above analysis 100% (though I might not give Romo too much leeway for the Eagles game; that one really hurt.) In fact, didn't the 'Boys rack up 400+ yds offense against the Panthers? The score wasn't as high as some of us would have liked, but Romo came out focused and throwing the ball pretty well. They just didn't punch it in, but they didn't really need to either.

It's frustrating to see all the mediots at ESPN over-analyzing bogus stats and trends from 3 weeks, and putting way too much emphasis on things that just aren't an issue. On the other hand, it will make it that much sweeter when we beat the Giants and shut their pie-holes up.

Albert is defending another colleague with regional ties to the point that his credibility is being questioned by myself and many other readers. Like Tom, Albert is probably the kind of vindictive writer who takes shots at coaches and players when they don't get granted more media access, or feel belittled during the interview process.

Like others, I'm starting to understand why readers are becoming annoyed by Mr. Breer's views and stance.

We're not requesting that you become a HOMER Cowboys fan Albert, just report the facts and stop ballwashing your New England cronies.
