![]() McClatchy-Tribune Super Bowl spies tell me that Tom Petty, who will perform at halftime of the Super Bowl, had a press conference today. Doesn't interest me much, but it was a big deal for The Ticket's Hardline. Original Hardliner Mike Rhyner, you see, is the front man of the cover band Petty Theft. So he got up and asked a question about Petty's early music and got a polite response. Schtickmeister Corby Davidson, in what I'm guessing was an attempt to humiliate his fellow Hardliner, later informed Petty of Rhyner's side gig and asked if he'd critique him. Petty declined, but he was willing to give his take on cover bands. "The only thing about cover groups is, as long as they’re not better than us, that’s OK," said Petty, who later delivered a half-hearted, "Gig 'em, Aggies" upon request. |

Lame Ticket bits are still 10 times more interesting than anything ESPN radio could throw out there.

The Ticket is way better than ESPN Radio anytime of the day, The Hardline is the best sports show in Dallas, and Corby Davidson is one of the best broadcasters in Dallas!!!

The Ticket will always beat GAC (Galloway and Crap). Oh and does ESPN radio have to pay the Nashville Netwotk for using their acronym?

Out of all of the NFL cities, Dallas has the WORST sports talk stations in the country. I'm not even sure that you can classify The Ticket as a "sports" talk station. I'd say that they're more like a "variety" talk station.

Yeah the ticket is so horrible....that's why there are so many stations ripping them off it's unreal. Oh and let's not forget about that Marconi award....but yeah they suck. Yesterday was good stuff but still not as good as the Billy Joel question from last year.

To "The Ticket Sucks"...I lived in Chicago for several years and had to listen to that mess they call sports talk. Perhaps you should pack up, move to Chicago, freeze your ace off and enjoy the worst broadcasters in the country such as Chet Coppick.
One more thing...Petty said GIGgle EM!
10 of 13.

I would listen to The Ticket if everytime I went over there it wasn't at a commercial. I drove from Frisco to Downtown the other day and they still were not back from commercial break.

Tom Petty at the Super Bowl. What, was .38 Special already booked??

Dallas sports talk is very addictive. During football season I don't get anything done at work and don't/can't listen to music. I will be catching up on missed music during off season.

Keep repeating it, Raul Garza, and it may even come true!
