Houck ushered in

When you get a new job, it's usually a good idea to build a strong relationship with your boss. Let's say that Cowboys offensive line coach Hudson Houck didn't get himself off to a bad start.

"Quite honestly, the thing never took off, the San Diego staff never took off until Wade got there," Houck said, referencing the year he and Wade Phillips spent together with the Chargers in 2004. "That's the truth. The defense really started playing better, and then the offense started playing better."

And so it went through a pretty easygoing media session. One thing Houck was adamant about was that after he was dismissed from Miami, along with the rest of Cam Cameron's staff, he never thought about hanging up his whistle.

"It never even crossed my mind, to be quite honest with you," Houck said. "In fact, after the season we had last year, I probably wanted to coach more and longer than ever. You don't want that taste in your mouth very long. In fact, if we were going to start practicing tomorrow, that'd be fine with me."

Well, they had already coached together so the basis for a relationship was already there.

Thought about hanging up "her" whistle...?

is this the world's first press conference to introduce an o-line coach?

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 4:06 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

..."he never thought about hanging up her whistle"...HA HA HA...you Cowgirls have a woman as your new OL coach...it fits...only women would lose at home in the playoffs after having the #1 seed...Tony and Ashley can vacation in Florida all they want now!!!...Hail to the Redskins!!!...

That's funny coming from a fan of a "team of destiny" that has no head coach at all, had a figurehead for a head coach who can't remember the rules for the past four years and collapsed, crashed and burned in the wildcard round against a team that ended up getting its rears handed to them in the divisional round.

People who live in glass wigwams shouldn't throw stones.

Haha well put Greybeard.

Hey redskin fan.....talk about females. What about your former head coach who was too much of a pu**y to stick around, while at the sametime, letting his female hogs down? Huh???? And by the way, are you going to dig up that corners grave to play next year? Should get him for cheap considering he can't spend his money. MUAHHAHAHAHAHHA

Looks like the glory days are back with Houck back in action. Look for the offensive line to be meaner next year.

Well, after all the weaping and wailing and knashing of teeth, it would appear the offensive coaching staff is in place.

Good luck to Tony Sparano - He deserved the opportunity, now if we can just get him to take Bowles and our special teams coach with him maybe we can find some guys who can actually coach the secondary and special teams

Does anybody wonder why Gibbs' nickname is "the ol' washer woman"?

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 4:55 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

hey Vox...because he makes the opponents need a "Washer Woman" for their underwear after 3 hours against Redskin football...here's to XXXXXXL #38 appearing in the same poster as #83 when we meet next year!!!...oh wait...I already own that poster....HA HA HA...Hail to the Redskins!!!...

I can't believe you morons lost to seattle by 21 points. Thanks for the love

Posted by Redskins_Rule @ 5:06 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

Hey Former CB...just saw your Head Coach standing motionless in front of Bob's Big Boy with a giant plastic hamburger held high above his head...he said he was getting his team motivated for next year just like he did this year for the playoffs...Redskins were not the #1 seed and did not win 13 games this year and did not have the easiest road to the SuperBowl...in other words they did not blow the same opportunity the Cowgirls did...makes it hurt that much more doesn't it?...HA HA HA...

Posted by CowboyUp @ 5:11 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

The Deadskins must have shut down their own blog due to lack of interest...

Hail ON The Deadskins!

I don't understand why fans of other teams feel the need to come on our favorite teams blog and talk s*%t. I can understand in a week leading up to the game, but now? We are done. We lost our playoff game and all us fans are disappointed. Now we just want to come here and blog with our fellow fans and we continue to have to deal with idiots. We are discussing personnel moves and the such. Just proves my point that there are two types of fans, Cowboy fans and those who wish they were Cowboy fans.

Posted by CowboyUp @ 5:24 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

Well said Eddy!

I agree Eddy...what a jerk Redskins_Rule is...

Posted by Other @ 7:25 PM Fri, Jan 18, 2008

They do it because they are just obsessed with the Cowboys. They're the only fans I know that will spend money on merchandise that doesn't even mention their team. Would any of us buy a shirt/hat/etc that said "Redskins S/UCK"??? I don't think so. Yet these morons do it on a regular basis. And, for the record, we don't have a "she" as a line coach... what we DO have is an incompetent yankee sports writer that obviously doesn't proof his copy before posting. But then what would you expect from a New Englander. They can't be bothered with the mundane everyday chores.
