Juraszek staying

Todd Bowles, Paul Pasqualoni and Kacy Rodgers followed Tony Sparano to Miami. Jerry Jones made sure strength and conditioning coach Joe Juraszek did not.

The Cowboys re-upped Juraszek before he could become a free agent of sorts, which is the second-best news the club's coaching staff has had so far, second only to Jason Garrett remaining as offensive coordinator.

Bill Parcells became a big fan of Juraszek's work during his time with the Cowboys, and the Dolphins wanted him to follow the crew to Miami. Juraszek just finished his 11th season with the Cowboys and is considered one of the best in the league. He has a non-stop work ethic and his program is challenging for the players. The players appreciate him always being there for workouts regardless of the time or day.

I read something way back in training camp that got me thinking. Juraszek's off-season training regiment for some players has them working out to build a solid base to start the season, and then they "trim down" as the season goes on. You can find the story under the main Cowboys site, archived news, March of 2007.

Dallas's December swoons have occurred ever since Juraszek has been with the Cowboys. These two facts beside each other made me wonder if there was any correlation. Of course, on the flip side, one can't deny the superb health that the team has exhibited for the last few years (something Parcells attributed directly to Juraszek's training program).

I still think the Cowboys are better with Juraszek than without him, but it's a pretty interesting coincidence.

Better with him than without him.....UNLESS THEY found another strength coach !

11years ??? Hmmm.....have the Cowboys won a playoff game under his watch ?

Jerry, Stephen, and Joe....the constants and only Joe has NO RING WITH THE BOYS !

Should have been FIRED. !

Why anyone would want to pretend to be Rams fan is beyond me. I'm guessing Saint Jimmy/Tim Burns is still unemployed. What a pathetic loser.

I thought Parcells preached the unwritten law of the NFL jungle that you didn't raid your former team when you move on?

Juraszek was my strength coach when I played ball for texas tech in the early nineties. That man pushed my body and mind to the max. He is a no BS type guy. He is the "jimmy Johnson" of strength coaches. I would gladley pay him now to whip this 35 year old body back into my college palying days.

I am starting to believe that the culprit for the December collapses is Juraszek.

I thought adding Houck was the best news. Keeping Garrett was second. I guess this might be third.
