The Cowboys signed defensive tackle Junior Siavii to their reserve/future List today. Siavii was came into the league as a second-round pick (36th overall) of the Kansas City Chiefs. Siavii had tryouts with the Browns, Saints and Buccaneers over the last few months. A 6-foot-5 and 330 pounds, he could project at either end or on the nose in Wade Phillips' 3-4. He was released by the Chiefs in Sept. 2006 and is probably a roster longshot. |

Redskins_Rule....you're an idiot man. Why are you on a Dallas blog loser? Last time I checked, your sorry a#s P.O.S. skins were trying to hire a HC because your precious Gibbs "Gave up" and left that disaster. Why don't you go to a Washington blog moron!!!
Posted by Bill in DC @ 6:14 PM Wed, Jan 23, 2008
So The Lions are dumping Shaun Rodgers either for trade or outright release (which of course just insured that they will get nothing for him in trade, these guys are dumber than the Rams).
Does Dallas give conditional 6th to maybe a 4th if he plays x% of defensive plays.
Rodgers has motivational and wieght problems, but if Wade can motivate him ( and I thin Wade is rather good at that) Rodgers could be the steal of the century. Imagine a 330-350lb nose tackle who can dominate a game playing along side Ware and Ellis and Canty.
I say, if this is true, we bring him in.

Redskins_rule is Rams_fan, Eagels_soar and otherr non-cowboys posters looking to grief this baord. He does it because of a neurotic need for attention.
The other reason is that the Redskins blog boards really suck and mostly nobody posts on them.

Wasn't Shaun Rodgers college buddies with Bigg Davis?
Maybe Davis could help get him motivated to get his fat ass in shape.
Rodgers' lack of conditioning when I've seen him has been shameful.

Dunno. but it's an interesting angle.

He could be a monster(Rogers) at NT, and I agree it MIGHT be worth seeing what Detroit wants for him. Bill in DC is right-on in his assessment of Rams Fan, Redskins Rule, Eagle's soar, Dumbledore, and the rest of his pathetic persona's.

I am not "RAMS FAN" Bill in DC...but here's an interesting angle...if they do bring in Rogers isn't he a threat to Wayne and Roy when they set out the free doughnuts each a.m. at Valley Ranch?...HA HA HA...Hail to the Redskins!!!...

I agree with Bill in DC and Paulov. I just can't take being quiet about it anymore and am going straight to the top re this issue. Its pathetic and sad that a person needs to drink so much Hatorade on our beloved Cowboy blog site. Re the Cowboys, they need to draft another class individual like Roger Starbuck who was an Army Officer; won the Heisman; and is a great family man and leader in his community. I loved watching him [mostly in person] all those years at Dallas Stadium. You would never see Starbuck run off right before a playoff game but then again he mostly won his playoff games.

He was a high 2nd round pick that didnt seem to be given much of an opportunity with KC.
Anyone know his story?

Now that some dust has settled I wanted to say my piece.
First to Bill in DC. I think we will end up trading for Rogers and Roy Williams. This may include Carpentar a number 1 pick and another player. We will see.
As far as the 2007 season goes. I said the Cowboys would not play in the NFC Championship but hoped I was dead worng. I am really pissed about how the season ended. Wade came up small. When the players needed a fire lit under their ass, no one was there to do it. I am dissapointed in Romo. Whether or not Cabo affected him, he should not have gone. It became a media distraction as well as all the coaching interviews. The Giants did not let Steve Spagnoulo interview. We should have done the same. Jerry seems to be losing his edge.
Getting back to Romo. He has talent, but I am not sure he can handle the criticism. The last few weeks he looked on edge, not smiling, and making that comment to Ed Werder was plain immature. He needs to grow a pair this offseason. As good as his stats looked, he faltered at the end and looked tight in the playoff game.
I believe they missed a chance they may not get back. It is hard to go 13-3 and get the 1 seed. Does anyone think they will replicate this record next year? I don't.We were pretty healthy (hardly any IR's) T.O. is another year older and if he does not get an extension, he may become a distraction.
I am concerned about Jerry the GM, Wade the lame duck coach, Roy Williams confidence among other things. I, like the rest of you ,enjoyed this year. I always thought though, it was too good to be true. When will the botton drop out. I guess that is the realism/pessimism in me.
I still can't believe the Giants are in the Super Bowl. They will lose, so you know next year they won't be a factor. We have talent to win the division but now Romo must win a playoff game. I have heard he has never won a high school, college and now professional football playoff game. Don't know if that is true, but it seems the happy go lucky guy lets the pressure get to him when it counts.
Oh well, what could have been. Hopefully 2008 is better!

I agree Realist except I think Romo does turn it around. You have to go through growing pains and experience the hatred of losing for you to want it more next time around. I truly believe the Cowboys expected to win and hated the feeling of losing that game.
First it was Seattle, now this loss, perhaps we win a playoff game and lose the NFC championship game next year but we Will get to the superbowl within the next two years. If Romo isn't the answer, then he will have to Eli it and just manage the game and let the talent that Jerry brings in do the winning. But mark my words...
We will go to a superbowl soon and I predict we even play in a superbowl in Jerry's Stadium. Even if the NFL refs have to help us along the way.

Isn't Tim Burns a film director guy? What is this obession about him? He seems like a diehard fan.
A-cast, I think he may have to become a " game manager " and move from gunslinger. Get a good running game and balance the offense. I really want another SuperBowl. In Miami would be great, in Arlington or wherever as long as it in the next 1-3 years - PLEASE
e-diggy, Ed Werder asked Romo during the week leading up to the Giants game about Cabo and distractions. Romo talked about being comfortable about who he was etc., then said to Werder, " I don't know how you sleep at night with that haircut" Was it funny? Sure, but bad timing and gave us some insight that he was feeling the pressure.

I love the idea of bringing in Shaun Rogers at NT to pair with Ferguson or Tank Williams. I think Ratliff makes a much better end than NT.
I don't know about trading for Rogers because I don't know his contract numbers. His contract may need to be renegotiated if a trade is made.
Any possibility of a multi-player trade for Rogers and Roy Williams and sending them some players and picks? I know that's a baseball thing, but what the heck.
How about Shaun Rogers and Roy Williams from Detroit to Dallas and Dallas sends back our Roy Williams, Bobby Carpenter, and our 2nd round pick?
