More knee-jerk instant analysis, before we switch gears over to Packers-Giants. Enjoy the big purple dinosaur, Timmy Tabloid ... 1 RB/1 TE/3 WR (‘11’ personnel): 18 of 64 snaps (7/11) ANALYSIS: The stark change in approach is a credit to the Patriots coaches. Look at two personnel sets for proof. The Patriots employed ‘10’ personnel 10 times in the first half, and not at all after halftime. And in the second half, they employed ‘22’ personnel 10 times, after not using it all in the first half. Clearly, there was an emphasis on getting bigger, stronger players on the field, so the Chargers couldn’t play as physical on the perimeter as they did in the first half. And it also helped them lead Laurence Maroney to one of the best performance of his career, and some of the most valuable yards he’s ever gained down the stretch on the clock-killing drive to finish things off. |

I congratulate the PATS yet I have mixed feelings about them.
After watching the Cowboy game I wonder what would have been without the bogus false start call against Ware on that Toomer scoring drive (the first one). The league later apologized and rescinded it, but it was a first down call and changed the game in ways we'll never know.
I don't recall honestly a penalty call against PATS. Are they really that "smart"?
That's all we are spoonfed, that they are an intelligent team but I wonder if it plays a role that the refs see them doing the same thing other teams get penalized for and don't call it?
An obvious leg whip from Vrabel led to the first NE pick. NO call. Another player, another team and we would have been hearing from Phil or Aikman that it wasn't a "smart" play. Several times on 3rd down they got Ware type jumps but no encroachment calls? I guess that makes the players "smarter" huh.
I'm probably a bitter Cowboy fan, and I am to be frank, but it's one of those things, to be the best you have to beat the best.
That's why Roy Jones after whipping an overweight and past time Tito yesterday continues his streak of fighting sub par opponents and cannot be considered the "best" and that's why it's tough to crown this team.
Aside from playing Indy when the calls went Indy's way, yet they still won, it appears the league is content to let them bully the whistle whilst other teams under similar circumstances give up first downs and huge plays.
That to me and brady's excellence are the two major differences I see between them and everyone else... they get every every call.

Bottom Line:
Brady would have led them to a score at the end of the game, Romo wasn't able to. Maybe next year

Typical losers lament paulyboo. Trying desperately to hang yet another post season loss on officials and crediting other teams success on bad officiating. Here's a suggestion, stop blaming losses you don't like on officials and start focusing on the teams.

Jordan always got calls because he was the best. I guess sometmes teams and players pay dues and earn respect. Then there's the Colts, who get every call and have for years. Either way, I hate to say it but that Pats have earned what they've gotten, and our Cowboys choked.

I believe both San Diego and New England were each penalized twice in the first half. Neither was penalized at all in the second half. Get over it.
