What did Wade do to this dude?!

11:30 PM Thu, Jan 10, 2008 |
Tim MacMahon   E-mail   News tips

Wade Phillips must have hawked a loogie in Massachusetts native Tom Curran's clam chowdah or something. I can't think of any other reason the NBCSports.com scribe would take not one, not two, but three cheap shots at Phillips in Curran's rankings of the eight teams still alive.

At least Curran blatantly kissed Bill Belichick's butt twice, though.

PROBABLY BECAUSE HE IS THE COACH OF THE MOST LOTHED, DESPISED, AND HORRIFIC TEAM IN THE SPORTS HISTORY OF THE WORLD.
YOU NEVER SEE ANYTHING BAD ABOUT THE MIGHTY RAMS THOUGH.
RAMS SCORED BOARD!

Another sheep from the national media. Yeah, dude, Wade Phillips is dumb. Uh huh. Dumb like a fox. Doesn't Curran wish he was so "dumb" to have coached a 13 win NFL team? Oh, but no, he's just a writer making peanuts to trash on that coach.

Rams fan, I've noticed the later your posts, the sloppier the grammar. Dude, you are seriously funny and whacked out. Have you ever considered suicide?

The guy is an absolute moron and there is no bigger homer ranking than the one he's putting out. That's about as official as me ranking all sports writers and ranking him as the worst two.

I don't know why everyone is under the impression the Giants have momentum. They went 4-4 in the second half of the season and the only double digit win came on that snowy game in Buffalo where they had some late INTs for TDs to ice the game.

It seems everyone has turned against the Cowboys on this one, but I think this team can beat anyone when they play focused. I think the main reason they are much better in the second half because they gather their focus at halftime so they can take care of business in one half (which is usually all they need).

I foresee another double digit win for the 'boys and a quick silencing off all this NY media.

Wait, NBC has a sports website?

Posted by Adrian G. @ 12:03 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Tom Curran's been covering the Pats since 2002 so it doesn't surprise me he wants to marry Belichick.

I also agree with blake ^
The Giants have no momentum. Were they not riding a six game winning streak last time we beat them?

I guess to the media losing to the Pats and beating a 9-7 Bucs team is more momentum than a six game winning streak.

Curran is an idiot. He obviously doesn't know what he is talking about if Brandon Jacobs isn't #1 on his list of biggest mouths. What's that? He's not even on the list?

As The Playmaker stated, the news here is that NBC has a sports website.

After the Cowboys spank the Giants this weekend will the New York media be officially out of the playoffs?

Posted by Broderick Battee @ 7:00 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

hate on wade all the way to the super bowl

Posted by love me some wade @ 7:32 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

What is up with all of these Wade haters? I wasn't so sure about the hire when Jerry did it, but clearly Wade has done a fantastic job. I'm looking forward to him doing it again next year and the year after. If we lose coordinators, big deal. That happens to all successful teams. But the guy at the top will be able to hire new, up-and-coming guys that can get the job done. Give Wade some love (and Jerry). Wade, I think you're the man and not getting the credit you deserve!

Posted by RAMS FAN @ 7:46 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

I WISH I WAS A COWBOYS FAN! I REALLY MISS THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF TOE! COWBOYS WIN THIS WEEKEND! I LOVE THE COWBOYS!

Posted by JC @ 8:04 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

I didn't even know there was an NBC Sports web site. Is this new?

Posted by P.M. @ 8:14 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Rams Fan- If you were in front of me right now you'd be getting pistol whipped in the mouth so bad you'd have a bigger gap than Strahan. By the way. I think you're the reason why drug companies stay in business. Along with mental homes. You're a zero.

Posted by Tim Burns @ 8:18 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

What a tool. A quick glance at this guys blog reveals that not only is he anti-Wade, he's a blithering sports idiot as well. Oh, that makes sense. He's Breer's "buddy".

Posted by Adam Knapp @ 9:02 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Funny thing is, this writer seems exactly like the kind of dueschebag who would keeping saying 'Hey man there's something on your shirt ... gotcha!' You can tell he's never been punched in the face.

Posted by Paul @ 9:04 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

I love that the 'Boys are somehow 'underdogs'. We are extremely talented and explosive. Add a chip on the shoulder and we're going to smoke NY.

Posted by Natty Lite @ 9:36 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

The only place worse than St.Louis to live would be that blow hole area called New England.8 months of bad weather and morons to boot. The make Bud in St.Louis so the fans can`t remember how bad they suck the next day.

Posted by Big Kev @ 11:36 AM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

Putting TO as the biggest mouth is kind of a give up. He really has not said anything controversial this year. Patrick Crayton has had a bigger mouth than TO.

Posted by love me some wade @ 12:03 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

what about Brandon Jacobs as the big mouth? He's WAY more out there than T.O.

Posted by Jason @ 12:04 PM Fri, Jan 11, 2008

He was slamming everybody, not just Wade. Get over it. If Wade didn't act so goofy on the sidelines, maybe he wouldn't catch so much flack.
