The Cowboys kept one of their better special teams players off the free-agent market, re-signing long snapper L.P. Ladouceur to a five-year deal. Ladouceur was scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the month. Ladouceur joined the Cowboys in 2005 after snapping woes early that season, and he has been nearly flawless since. He had three special teams tackles in 2007. He will earn base salaries of $520,000, $620,000, $635,000, $650,000 and $790,000 through the life of the deal. |

Who cares.

I would love Todd, Rick, Albert or Calvin to explain why you can't just pick a guy to be a long snapper. This seems like something you give the weakest link in training camp to do to make the team and he's got three weeks to get it down. I know this guy is getting the base salary, but it's not like some of their big money guys (Bobby Carpenter?) can't do this. It seems the Cowboys have cared more about this than they have their kicker before the 2007 draft.

This is a good signing, the best long snappers are the ones no one ever mentions and this guy was unnoticed all year long.

anybody who questions the importance of this signing does not remember the pre Jeff Robinson years...let's just say Camps might have had 1-2 more wins as HC if he had a decent LS during his tenure...HA HA HA©...Hail to the Redskins©!!!...
p.s. what do you think my signals are?...BTW its your tone...that's your "limp"...along with ending your posts with open ended questions...

Typical of pro sports. This guy gets $500K and is expected to be perfect every time he touches the ball and "good" cornerbacks, because they are so tough to find, will tip the $100 million scale this year. Obsurd. Glad he signed though. He's more of an asset than most people realize.
