I am contemplating suicide. I cannot believe Dan made me wait a month only to sign a QB coach that has acheived mediocre results at his last job. I mean, shouldn't he size up Zorn at OC BEFORE he sends him up the ladder ? Dan's just buying time until next year,when Cowher's available. The Skins are gonna ROCK in '09 ! I cannot wait.Of course, that means The Skins are gonna suck AGAIN next season. That's okay, just wait-YA'LL JUST WAIT FOR '09 ! WE'll be in position for a good pick in the '09 draft by then, too. Great plan ! We'll bring in the coach we want with a monster 1st round pick and R&R in '09 ! Wo-wo-wo. We'll still have cap issues. That's okay, we can always pick up several over-priced free agents to plug our holes. Hot dog ! RR is migrating towards Clyde Simmons teepee now, guys.

RR, can't believe you think Jerry Jones actually made the right decision of making a former QB with limited coaching experience the OC before promoting to HC. What the skins need to do is wipe the slate clean and put as many promising young guys around Campbell. It's the only way they are going to get a sniff of the SB.

The Deadskins are not going to get a 'sniff' of the SB. They have one of the oldest, if not oldest rosters in the league, with many of their skill positions among the older guys (OLT, ORT, WR, CB, MLB). Their star RB (whom they traded the best cover corner in the league for in a move I'll never understand) is showing signs of wear as he is oft injured, their young QB is beginning to show signs of being injury prone (talk about McFadden's 'chicken legs' - take a look at Campbell) because the OL can't protect him. They have 16 UFAs and are 21 million over the cap (they actually are about 24 mil 'over' since the they have to have 3-4 mil available under the cap for incoming draft picks). Sure, they can cut their 3rd string - oops now 2nd string because the 2nd string is one of those UFAs - QB who is scheduled to make $9mil this season (he'll still cost them a few mill due to proration of bonus money). That leaves them with 1 QB. They can probably cut enough players and redo deals (again) to get under the cap enough to sign their draft picks, but this will leave them with almost no money to pursue FAs or resign players (although some of them they will get for the minimum since nobody else wants them). They will claim that they are 'satisfied with their roster' and 'will adopt a conservative approach' in FA and that they are 'wise and smart' to follow this approach to cover the fact that they can't do much else anyway.

They set up the current roster with the idea that they would get their shot at the SB in the last two years with Gibbs, intending to blow it up after Gibbs rode into the sunset with a SB Title. It didn't work out for them, now they begin to pay the price. They are doomed to being a mediocre/average team for the foreseeable future.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team. I think it's God's revenge for their having that racist name.

Is it just me, or do you think the Redskins_Rules fan is a closet Cowboys fan that just hasn't had the nerve to come out of the closet? Why else would he post on this blog all day long? Does anyone else here care about the Redskins enough to post on their blog? It's like a straight guy going to a gay bar all the time and pretending that he's just an open minded guy. If you are there all the time you're hiding something...so c'mon out of the closet Redskins-Rule Fan and we will forgive you.

Jerry will blow this draft you just watch. Trade Barber to move up in the first round to select Mendenhall. He is a burner compared to Barber, Give away 3 players for 1 ? Don't be stupid. Carpenter needs a chance. Dallas needs another coach. Wade is a great dc not a hc. Dallas has a cerebal defense Ginats have one that plays with power. It would behoove Dallas to add some mean to the defense.

Cowboys DL looks pretty good but I'd like to see them step up their ability to disrupt the pocket. Unlike many, I do not think Spears is a bust; he is a capable player who only looks bad because of other guys around him being better.

I think Spears is pretty much average. Not what you'd expect from a #1 pick, but there are many other #1 pick D linemen that are also average. Dallas desperately needs someone who commands some attention and draws some from the OLBs. Maybe shifting Ratliff there will do the trick.
