The official stance on this here blog is that Jerry shouldn't trade the farm for the right to draft Arkansas RB Darren McFadden. But Jerry has my permission to set an NFL record for quickest pick in the first round if McFadden falls to No. 22. Hey, it could happen if GMs listen to NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock. McFadden is missing from Mayock's list of the top 10 players in the draft, which is topped by Boston College QB Matt Ryan. "I don't touch Darren McFadden in the first 20 picks of the draft," Mayock said. Also of note from a Cowboys perspective: Troy's Leodis McKelvin, ranked No. 10, was the only cornerback to crack Mayock's list. Good luck getting a consensus opinion on the first-round cornerbacks. I've seen McKelvin, Kansas' Aqib Talib of Richardson Berkner and South Florida's Mike Jenkins all ranked by respected draft experts as the best player at the position. |

It does not matter what pick he falls to as long as McFadden has a star on his helmet come September 9th.

Please GOD, I will never leave my wife at night and head for strip clubs if the Boys draft McFadden...

Captcha caught that spam!
2nd try, see the irony?

I agree with Mayock.
This skinny legged guy might have been
great at Arkansas, but I am not sure he is any
better than Felix Jones are several other backs
in the draft.
Maybe if he falls to the teens, you think about trading up if the 22nd and a 2nd rounder will do it, but thats about it.

Dumbcock is an idiot... which is why nobody has ever heard of him.. he is just saying this to draw attention to himself...
Posted by Macarthur @ 5:14 PM Tue, Feb 12, 2008
Mayock is doing it for shock value. McFadden is a stud. He is the 2nd best player in the draft at worst! If he doesn't think McFadden is a top 10 player in this draft he is just trying to make people talk about himself. jackass.

And I gotta say after watching that video above, OH MY GOD!
I think McFadden is more explosive than Reggie Bush. Some of those runs are rediculous! And many of those are against SEC teams! Wow.

Forget McFadden. If he falls, is he still the 1st rb taken? If so will Jonathan Stewart be there at 22. That's the guy to get. If not, then Felix Jones should be there at 22, assuming that Mayock's scenario of rb's falling in this draft is correct.
Posted by BigTexKahuna @ 5:58 PM Tue, Feb 12, 2008
WOW, lau-lau! He catches the ball, too... and over the middle to boot?!? I sure hope JJ finds a way to get this stud to Big D... but definitely by not giving away the whole damn ranch!

Any player that can be lined up to take the ball and just run after the snap (ala Mike Vick, pre-prison stay) can play for my Cowboys. The same retards were calling Adrian Peterson injury-prone last year. I think I'd prefer to have DMac in combination with the Barberian than the other backs. He's just in his own class, athletically.
Posted by randy @ 6:16 PM Tue, Feb 12, 2008
This team has too many other needs that need addressing than using our 1st #1 (or eithr of our #1's on a RB).
This year's draft class is full of other RB's that have plenty of potential (Rice, Charles, Hart, Jones to name a few).
Go after Talib and maybe Manningham or Sweed with the other. I'd wait until the 2nd round to start looking at RB.

Well heck. If bloggers have so much effect we should all start dissing McFadden, then he's sure to drop to 22.
Posted by dAVE @ 7:01 PM Tue, Feb 12, 2008
Mcfadden is over rated, I'd rather have Jonathan Stewart....
Posted by tugturdwell @ 7:02 PM Tue, Feb 12, 2008
Hey folks, D-MAC's bird legs is what makes him so fast. If had huge legs he would run like Robert Newhouse. Those guys on the highlight reels might as well have been pickin' daisies. Man...to think of him with a star on his helmet. Someone wipe the drool off of Jerry's bib.
A breakaway back (like a Felix Jones) is what we need to complement Barber anyway. No way D-MAC is there at 22. He may drop a bit like Adrian Peterson. But now that AP ran over the league...I doubt he goes past 5. Deep draft for good backs though.

The Cowboys have got to sign Randy Moss , Asante Samuel, trade for Roy Williams and Chad Johnson. Pick up Rogers from Detroit. Get Lance Briggs and Clark Haggans. Sign Marcus Trufant and trade for Antonio Cramartie and Champ Bailey. They should call and see if Tom Brady and Peyton Manning are available ( try to get both). I only say all this because I know everything.
Well thats what my dad said

The Cowboys also need to draft Mcfadden , Felix Jones, Chris and Jake Long , Glenn Dorsey , Matt Ryan, Leodis Mckelvin, Sedrick Ellis, Mike Jenkins and Brian Brohm. Jerry should just trade with everybody and get all their picks. Atleast thats what my dad said

Why waste a draft pick on DMc. Cowboys have a rb that does the job. Fill the needs and get a good backup rb in the late second or third round.

From those highlights, it's not like D-Mac made plays for himself. He simply had some really big holes to run through and outran college players. Not sure how that's going to translate in the NFL. Gawd I would feel a lot more comfortable if Ireland was here making the analysis on prospects.

It doesn't matter where he falls... Jerry will sell the ranch to get him... yes he's that stupid.
